There is no club ranking, so riders are able to self-seed as needed based on their fitness / skill / number of laps they’d like to do.

For age categories (U17, U15, U13, U11, U9), the age you are at the end of the calendar year dictates which category you’ll be in. If you turn 11 in November 2023, it means you’ll be ineligible for U11 and will need to be racing Under 13 for the whole of 2023!

For XCO (see formats below), the number of laps for a category will depend on the length and difficulty of the course, with A Grade men doing around 80 minutes / 25km (whichever’s shorter). A Grade women and B Grade men will do one less lap than A Grade men, with similar scaling applied to the other categories. U13, U11 and U9 may have a modified course to avoid overly difficult sections or to shorten the length.

Formats

XCO is Cross Country Olympic. Generally, courses are around 4.5-6km in length, with the number of laps dependent on category.

XCC is Cross Country Criterium. This is a shorter race, with the course length being around 1km. Riders race for 15-25min (based on category) + one lap.

2 Hour is a lap-based cross country format, with the aim being to do as many laps of the course within the time period. Riders need to head out on their last lap before the 2 hour mark, but are able to complete the lap outside of the 2 hours.

Enduro is a gravity format that features timed sections. Riders are timed in stages that are primarily downhill, with neutral "transfer" stages in between.

Series Points

Points accrue in each series, with prizes for winners. Doing timing duty instead of racing = 80 points for that round.
